Smarane Zakirji :A Tribute to Ustad Zakir Hussain

Kolkata, February 21 – The Akhil Bharatiya Sangeet Kala Ratna Sabha (ABSKRS), a newly founded music circle by the Kolkata Gharana Slide Guitar legend Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, in collaboration with BSUM, proudly presents a musical tribute titled Smarane Zakir Ji. This special event will take place at Mahanayak Uttam Mancha on February 21, from 5 PM to 9 PM.


The evening will showcase a mesmerizing Slide Guitar Symphony performed by students of all ages under the expert guidance of Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya. Young artists from various musical traditions will also unite to pay homage, emphasizing the beauty of Indian Classical Music. Following this, the renowned Tabla maestro Pandit Samir Chatterjee will deliver a spellbinding Tabla solo performance.


Adding to the grandeur of this musical tribute, Suryadipta Bhattacharya, the son and disciple of Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, will present his father’s legendary creation, The Pushpa Veena, accompanied by globetrotting Tabla maestro Pandit Tanmoy Bose.


The event will culminate with a captivating Bharatanatyam performance by the eminent Jaya Seal Ghosh, bringing the evening to a poetic close.


ABSKRS, a non-profit charitable organization, warmly invites all music and dance lovers to join this humble yet extraordinary evening of soulful remembrance and artistic celebration.
